It is found that the user data is not considered safe on Zoom as the application offers advertisements. However, the marketing team at Zoom claims to be offering end to end encryption to their customers and users.
According to media reports, Zoom could access to the videos and audio calls of the users although, end to end encryption has been provided.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson of the application said that, “Currently, it is not possible to enable E2E encryption for Zoom video meetings. Zoom video meetings use a combination of TCP and UDP. TCP connections are made using TLS and UDP connections are encrypted with AES using a key negotiated over a TLS connection.”
Zoom has been using transport encryption. Transport encryption is different from E2E yet it is guaranteed that content would remain private from outsiders. However, this type of encryption gives access to the company to user information; Zoom has refuted to have any access to the personal information.
The utilization of transport encryption has raised concerns among the users.
