Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha has taken charge as new Governor Balochistan after taking oath on Friday a day earlier.
Syed Zahoor Agha was sworn in as 25th Governor Balochistan. The oath taking ceremony was held at Governor House, Quetta.
Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Justice Jamal Mandokhel administered the oath to the newly-appointed governor. The ceremony was attended by CM Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Senators Manzoor Ahmed Kakar and Sana Jamali, provincial ministers, advisers, MNAs, Balochistan Assembly’s former speaker Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, MPAs, senior government officials, including Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana, IG Police Mohammad Tahir Rai, the IG of Frontier Corps and several PTI officials.
The newly appointed Governor Balochistan has thanked PM Imran Khan, President Dr Arif Alvi and senior party leadership for their trust.
Syed Zahoor Agha was born in 1971 in Balochistan’s Pishin district. His father, Syed Noor Agha, was a businessman by profession.
He received his early education from Islamia High School Quetta; completed matriculation in 1987; passed FSc from CFG College Quetta in 1989; and did BSc and MA Literature from University of Balochistan.
His political career began during his student days and he has been very active in the field for more than two decades.
The development comes as Amanullah Khan Yasinzai resigned as Governor Balochistan. His resignation was accepted by President Arif Alvi on July 7th earlier this week.
