India have staged a stunning comeback in the middle overs with Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav’s twin strikes triggering a Pakistan collapse. From 155/2, Pakistan lost five wicekts for 16 runs and find themselves in danger of getting bowled for under 200. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were in the middle of a partnership that looked rather threatening for India after two timely strikes from Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya got rid of the Pakistan openers. But once Siraj had the Pakistan captain playing on, ending the 82-run stand, Pakistan’s wheels came off. Kuldeep had Saud Shakeel out LBW before bowling Iftikhar Ahmed around his legs. Shortly after Bumrah bowled a peach to dismiss Rizwan and then subsequently removed Shadab Khan in the next over. The collapse continued for Pakistan and they were eventually all out for 191.
Earlier, after India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl while announcing the return of Shubman Gill in place of Ishan Kishan, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq helped themselves to a flurry of boundaries. But even though Mohammed Siraj leaked runs, he made amends by dismissing the dangerous Abdullah Shafique in the eighth over. Imam had batted solidly to reach 36 off 28 balls before Hardik delivered another blow giving Imam a send-off.
