West Indian pace sensation Shamar Joseph is set to miss out on the ongoing ILT20, owing to his toe injury which he suffered during West Indies’s historic Test win over Australia at the Gabba.
Joseph was set to join the Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 after the conclusion of Test series against Australia, however, he will now return home.
He is expected to achieve full fitness in time to represent Peshawar Zalmi, in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9.
Notably, Joseph rose to fame for his exceptional grit when he defied the aforementined toe injury to power the West Indies to their first victory over Australia since 1997.
Joseph went through scans after retiring hurt on Saturday night when he was hit on the toe by a Mitchell Starc yorker, however, he came back to the field on Sunday and took 7-68 as the West Indies bowled Australia out for 207.
