The Utility stores’ workers have announced to go on a strike for unspecified time period amid COVID-19 lockdown and a day before the start of month of Ramazan.
All Pakistan Workers Unions have suspended their operations and services at the utility stores in Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala and Multan.
The development comes as negotiations between workers’ union and the administration failed.
The union president has blamed MD Utility Stores Corporation for the crisis as the administration has utterly failed in heeding to the workers’ demands.
The strike is expected to further contribute to the uncertainty that has gripped the masses due to coronavirus lockdown across the country.
