Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar on Wednesday, appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in matters pertaining to issuance of liquor license to a particular hotel.
CM Punjab Usman Buzdar arrived at NAB office Lahore without any protocol to be questioned in matters pertaining to illegal issuance of liquor license to a particular hotel allegedly receiving Rs50 million in bribe.
The provincial chief executive was questioned for around two hours and has been handed over a 12-page questionnaire.
The accountability watchdog has directed Usman Buzdar to submit his response by August 18.
NAB has contended that Director General (DG) Excise is responsible for issuance of liquor licenses, whereas CM Usman Buzdar used his authority and influence for the issuance of liquor license for a particular hotel.
Usman Buzdar has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing and has assured NAB of full cooperation on the matter.

Meanwhile former director general (DG) Excise Akram Ashraf Gondal also appeared before the anti-graft institution and recorded his statement on the case.
Mr Gondal apprised NAB officials that he had duly notified CM Usman Buzdar that the issuance of liquor license was against rules and regulations due to the absence of essential NOCs.
It is to be noted that earlier, PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz’s appearance before NAB turned violent on Tuesday, as party workers clashed with police outside NAB office Lahore.
PML-N leader was summoned by the accountability watchdog to be questioned regarding a case pertaining to illegal transfer of 200 acres of land in Raiwind during Deputy Commissioner (DC) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and former DG Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema’s tenure.
