Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday (today), revealed that Pakistan paid back debt payments worth around US$ 20 billion during the tenure of PTI government.
Expressing his views in a ceremony pertaining to ‘Roshan Digital Account’ initiative, PM Imran accentuated that PTI government has taken significant steps towards addressing country’s increasing debt and relevant issues.
The premier apprised that Pakistan successfully paid back debt amounting to US$ 20 billion during the last two and a half years.

Furthermore, PM Imran underscored the increase in country’s exports at a time when the economies around the world were badly affected by the breakout of the pandemic.
Meanwhile, expressing satisfaction over the massive success of Roshan Digital Accounts initiative, the prime minister revealed that around 88,000 such accounts have been opened across 97 countries so far.
He also highlighted the significance of overseas Pakistanis and their contribution towards nation’s progress and development via valuable remittances.
Reza Baqir – Governor State Bank Of Pakistan, was also present at the ceremony and announced that Naya Pakistan Certificates will now be available in British Pound Sterling (£) and Euro (€) as well.
