Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s (MQM-L) Kehkashan Haider, a Texas based US citizen is responsible for running a target killing racket in Karachi, said CTD and Rangers officials on Thursday (today).
DIG Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) – Omar Shahid Hamid held a press-briefing along with Col Shabbir of Sindh Rangers, revealed that Kehkashan Haider – a US citizen residing in Texas has been running a comprehensive target killing racket in Karachi.
DIG CTD Omar Shahid apprised that security agencies have been probing the case since when MQM-L target killers were apprehended by Sindh Rangers back in 2017.
Security agencies have obtained an audio recording in which Ms Haider can be heard giving explicit instructions to target killers in Karachi and directing him to confirm once the assassination had been carried out.
Addressing the press conference, Sindh Rangers Col Shabbir noted that kehkashan Haider intended to stir sectarian violence via assassination of carefully picked targets.
CTD has registered a case against Kehkashan Haider under Section 11-H, 11-N of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) on accounts of terror financing.
