Lt Gen (r) Asim Saleem Bajwa – Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), on Thursday, announced that the signing ceremony of US$ 2.4 billion Tripartite agreement for Kohala Hydel Power Project will be held today.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information, took to social media to announce that today is a ‘historic day’ due to the signing of largest power sector investment in one IPP worth up to US$ 2.4 billion.
“Historic day -Tripartite Agreement signing ceremony for Kohala Hydel Power Project being held today. Largest power sector investment of $2.4 Bn in one IPP,” he tweeted.

Prior to this, the future of 1,124MW Kohala Hydropower Project on Jehlum River, faced severe uncertainty due to the concerns over the environmental side effects of the project.
