Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed formulation and implementation of a uniform education system for all public, private institutions and religious seminaries. He also highlighted that PML-N has been divided due to its anti-army narrative.
According to details, PM Imran Khan while presiding over a meeting to mull over prevailing varying curriculums in the country, stressed the need to formulate and implement a uniform educational institution for both public and private institutions along with religious seminaries.
He underscored that a uniform education system is an essential requirement of modern times and is a basic right of every child.
The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister Shafqat Mehmood, Punjab Education Minister Murad Rass, Punjab Higher Education Minister Yasir Humayun, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Minister Shahram Tarakai, Parliamentary Secretary Federal Ministry of Education Wajiha Ikram and senior officials
PM Imran reiterated that the National Education Policy will improve standard of education and will be a further step in ensuring the provision of equal opportunities to every segment of the society.
Furthermore, the meeting mulled over provision of Islamic teachings, values and principles to pupils. The forum was informed that Islamic Studies would be taught as a separate subject in the curriculum from first to twelfth grade, meanwhile a separate subject titled ‘Religious Teachings’ has also been introduced for religious minorities and will be taught from first grade.
In addition to it, PM Imran also chaired a meeting of government spokespersons to address dynamic economic and political circumstances amid opposition’s anti-government movement.
The premier accentuated that extent of damage caused by the irresponsible and controversial remarks made by senior PML-N leader and former national assembly speaker – Ayaz Sadiq, should be propagated and communicated to the public.
He noted that PML-N’s anti-army narrative has led to extensive divisions in the party. People of Pakistan have cordial relations with their army and they fully back and support the institution, he said.
The Prime Minister maintained that opposition’s interests are different than that of the country and their corruption must be exposed to the public.
