United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) adopted a Pakistan sponsored resolution on inter-religious dialogue on Friday (today).
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), by UNGA on Friday adopted a resolution on inter-religious and inter-cultural dialogue aimed at promoting peace and harmony in the world.
The resolution was sponsored by Pakistan and Philippines.
Due to the efforts Pakistan’s delegation, the resolution for the first time acknowledges the significance and respect for religious symbols, read the statement issued by MoFA.
The resolution also the Kartarpur Corridor initiative by Pakistan to allow Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world to visit their holy site Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan.
Pakistan has expressed gratitude to United Nations along with member states who supported the resolution and global interfaith harmony agenda and passed the resolution with ‘overwhelming majority’.
