The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has raised its concerns over socio-political and human rights situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).
The UNSC met after Pakistan’s request to address the grave situation in the disputed valley to mark the first anniversary of the illegal revocation of Kashmir’s special autonomous status by Indian government on August 5, 2019 last year.
The meeting was presided by Indonesia as it is currently the President of the United Nations Security Council for the month of August.
During the meeting the council expressed its grave concerns regarding abhorrent human rights violation by Indian forces in IOK that has led to an appalling human rights situation in the disputed valley.
