United Nations (UN) Secretary General Antonio Guterres has urged India to resolve Kashmir dispute with Pakistan.
In a statement, UN Chief Antonio Guterres has urged India to discuss and resolve Kashmir issue with Pakistan via dialogue as ‘there’s no military solution’ to the dispute.
Expressing his concerns regarding escalation between Pakistan and India, Mr Guterres warned that military confrontation between the two would be a disaster of unmitigated proportions for both countries and for the whole world.
The top UN official accentuated the need for de-escalation between India and Pakistan at Line of Control (LoC).
Stressing upon the need for the provision and preservation of human rights, UN Secretary General highlighted the grave human rights violations in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK).
Urging the necessity to resolve Kashmir dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the UN Charter, Antonio Guterres called upon India to come together with Pakistan and discuss bilateral issues.
