Karachi: Karachi Police, on Tuesday, sealed two factories on violation of government’s lockdown directives.
According to Syed Muhammad Ali Raza, – SSP Malir, the two textile mills owned by Yunus Textile Mills Limited and Alkaram Textile Mills Pvt. Ltd, were sealed by police on accounts of violation of lockdown instructions issued by the government.
Both the facilities will remain sealed until the lockdown measures are in effect, said Raza.
Commissioner Karachi – Iftikhar Ali Shallwani, supervised the police operation in which the two facilities were sealed off, followed by the arrests of their senior administrative staff as the two factories were found continuing their production activities amid coronavirus lockdown imposed by the government.
The mill owners and their administrative staff was let go after their written assurances to abide by the lockdown measures.
As per police sources, Alkaram Textile Mills had previously violated lockdown measures 10 days ago, however their administration continued factory operations after obtaining bail from court.
Sindh government has already extended its province-wide lockdown till April 14 to curb the virus spread.
