Two children are said to have been died, several are missing after a boat carrying flood affectees capsized in Indus River in Khairpur.
The incident happened near the Pir Jo Goth kaccha, Khairpur when a boat carrying 25 people of the Jatoi community of Mor Jhaba village who have been displaced due to floods, capsized in the Indus River on Thursday (today).
So far 18 people have been rescued and five are still missing.
Two dead bodies have also been recovered from the scene. The deceased have been identified as 14-year-old Laila and 12-year-old Sindhu Sheikh.
According to local sources, the boat capsized due to overloading as it was too crowded while crossing the river.
