Suhail Shaheen – Afghan Taliban spokesperson has reiterated that the group will not allow anyone to use Afghan territory against Pakistan or any other country.
Speaking to HUM NEWS’ Meher Bokhari, Suhail Shaheen – Afghan Taliban spokesperson and member of Taliban’s negotiation team, categorically reaffirmed that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is not a part of Afghan Taliban.
Responding to a question regarding Afghan Taliban’s policy on TTP, Suhail Shaheen reiterated that the group is determined on its principle stance to not allow Afghan land to be used against anyone.
‘It’s Tehreek-e-Taliban Paksitan, not Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan,’ said the Afghan Taliban spokesperson.
Suhail Shaheen’s remarks hold significant weightage as TTP which is responsible for innumerous terrorist attacks inside Pakistan has been operating from Afghanistan ever since Pakistan launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb and Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad along Pak-Afghan border areas (formerly FATA).
The group has enjoyed support from various elements inside Afghan government and intelligence community and India as well, with the latter providing financial support to the terrorist group.
However, TTP and its Indian facilitators have faced a significant setback due to Afghan Taliban’s advance and massive territorial gains in recent days across Afghanistan amid US troops’ withdrawal.
