Washington: President Donald Trump has announced to extend the 15-day social distancing guidelines by 30 days until April 30.
Highlighting the significance of adhering to social distancing guidelines he said, “The better you do, the faster this whole nightmare will end.”
Tump’s health advisers have warned of dire consequences if Americans were allowed to return to large gatherings or crowded workplaces.
However, the President hopes that the country will soon bounce back from this crisis and expressed that he hopes the country will be on its way to recovery by June 1.
“We can expect that by June 1st, we will be well on our way to recovery, we think by June 1st. A lot of great things will be happening. I want our life back again,” he noted.
Mr Trump had previously said that Easter, 10-13 April – would be a ‘beautiful time’ to be able to open at least some sections of the country.
Dr Anthony Fauci, White House medical adviser, has warned that the virus could kill up to 200,000 Americans.
The United States has reported more than 140,000 confirmed coronavirus cases with the death reaching to 2,493 casualties.
