Lahore based TikToker Kashif Zameer Chaudhry has been apprehended by Punjab Police for scamming Turkish actor and Ertuğrul star Engin Altan Düzyatan.
Kashif Zameer was taken into custody CIA Iqbal Town Lahore. The development comes as Engin Altan Düzyatan has written to IG Punjab requesting to register a case against the Lahore based TikToker over fraudulent activities, sending him fake cheques, and using his pictures without permission, reported Mian Shafqat Deputy Superintendent of Police of the Crime Investigation Agency (DSP CIA).
Kashif Zameer was presented before a judicial magistrate which handed him over to the police for one day for investigation.
The police also confiscated a vehicle with blue light and a green number plate, illicit arms and artificial gold jewelry from the accused’s residence.
According to DSP CIA Mian Shafqat, Kashif Zameer had had sent fake bank drafts and cheques to Turkey worth Rs90 million.
It is pertinent to know that TikToker Kashif Zameer had invited Engin Altan Düzyatan – who played the role of Ertugrul Ghazi in renowned Turkish drama Drillis Ertrugrul.
Pictures of the duo vent viral in December 2020 last year when Turkish actor had visited Pakistan after signing a deal worth US$ 1 million with Kashif Zameer for becoming the brand ambassador of his firm – which turned out to be fake.
The Lahore based TikToker had defrauded the Turkish star and had only handed the latter a US$ 5,000 cheque, which also bounced.
This not the first time Zameer is facing legal action. He was arrested in December 2020 and was facing eight cases at the time for fraud and deception, betrayal of trust, car theft, and robbery.
