Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Saturday, highlighted the significance of the far-reaching benefits to the masses in wake of the reduction in petroleum prices.
In a statement, Prime Minister stated, “After the significant reduction in oil prices, it will be ensured that rates of other items are also decreased.”
According to the details, Imran Khan has instructed Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments to ensure the provision of the availability of groceries and daily essentials at lower prices so that the people can truly benefit from the cut in petroleum prices by the federal government.
“Prices of daily commodities raised in the past with a rise in petrol prices. But now, since the government has reduced the petroleum prices, the provincial governments must ensure the benefits of the reduced petroleum prices should be reached to the people,” he noted.
It is to be noted that, federal government on Friday, announced significant cuts in petroleum prices. The petrol price was slashed by Rs 15, and currently stands at Rs 81.58 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel has been fixed at Rs 80.10 per litre after a reduction of Rs 27.15.
Kerosene oil prices were cut by Rs 30.01 bringing it down to Rs 47.44 per litre. The price of light diesel has been fixed at Rs47.51 per litre after a cut of Rs 15.
