RIYADH: The announcement has been made by the government of Saudi Arabia to resume the Tawwaf on the Mataaf for now, allowing only the selected few.
However, the officials urged the visitors to refrain from going close to the Kaaba and practice social distancing, while security guards are directed to ensure a small group performs Tawwaf at a time.
Earlier, the Saudi government banned prayers at the Haram and Khana Kaba to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The curfew is imposed in KSA for 23 days since March 23.
Currently, there are 1453 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and eight deaths have been reported.
