Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, on Saturday, formed a three-member bench to conduct hearing on Peshawar’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
As per the details, the bench had been formed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed on the request of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
The three-member bench will be headed by Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal, whereas the other two members include Justice Faisal Arab and Justice Qazi Amin.

Prior to this, KP government had approached SC against the verdict of Peshawar High Court (PHC) which had instructed Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to investigate the project and submit its inquiry report.
The PHC, in its verdict had expressed concerns regarding obtaining huge loans, poor planning, various design changes in the project which in-result have increased the project cost exponentially.
