The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, on Thursday, directed Sindh government to resume work on Karachi Circular Railway (KCR).
The SC bench comprising of Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Ijazul Ahsan, on Thursday heard the case regarding Pakistan Railway’s financial crisis and remarked that Sindh government must address certain ‘bottleneck’ construction and development issues faced by the KCR project.
“We direct the Sindh chief secretary to ensure that the above three items of work are expeditiously completed to enable KCR to run in Karachi,” said the statement issued by the court.
In addition to it, the court also directed Sindh government to submit its progress report on the matter within two weeks.

The case has been adjourned for one month, and Commissioner Karachi and provincial chief secretary have been directed to appear before the court in the next hearing.
