An accountability Court in Lahore has directed Suleman Shahbaz to be declared an ‘absconder’ in money laundering case.
Accountability court Judge Jawad Al-Hassan in his four-page verdict directed relevant authorities to initiate proceedings to declare Suleman Shahbaz an absconder in money laundering case.
The court also took notice of Shahbaz Sharif’s complaint regarding mistreatment by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and directed opposition leader to be treated with due respect and courtesy.
“No authority is allowed to damage the self-esteem of any prisoner,” said the court order.
The directives to declare Suleman Shahbaz an absconder have been issued citing intentional refusal by Suleman Shahbaz to receive court orders in money laundering case.
Meanwhile, the court has temporarily suspended action against Nusrat Shahbaz and Rabia Imran on Shahbaz Sharif’s assurance regarding their appearance in the next hearing.
It is pertinent to know that NAB has accused Shahbaz Sharif, his wife and daughter Nusrat Shahbaz, Rabia Imran, sons Suleman and Hamza of being involved in money laundering worth up to Rs 85 billion.
