The Maharashtra government, on Tuesday, announced to re-investigate the suicide abetment case against Arnab Goswami.
State Home Minister Anil Deshmukh took to social media to announce the re-investigation of the case after the government had received complaints that the local police had failed to investigate the non-payment of dues from Arnab Goswami’s organization.
“I’ve ordered a CID re-investigation of the case,” he tweeted.
It is to be noted that an abetment to suicide case was registered against Arnab Goswami and two others back in 2018 after Anvay Naik, a 53-year old managing director of Concorde Designs, a Mumbai-based architectural and interior designing firm, and his mother had committed suicide due to the non-payment of dues worth up to INR 8.3 million from Arnab Goswami and his organization, Republic TV, along with Feroz Shaikh of IcastX/Skimedia, and Niteish Sarda of Smartworks who owed INR 40 million and INR 5.5 million to Mr Anvay respectively.
The police had earlier submitted a report stating that there was insufficient evidence to file a charge sheet against the accused individuals.
