A delegation of senior Buddhist Monks from Sri Lanka visited Badshahi Mosque and Lahore Fort in Lahore on Tuesday a day earlier.
The delegation is led by Dr Walpole Piyananda (Abbot and President, Dharmavijaya Buddhist Vihara, USA).
Expressing his views, Dr Walpole Piyananda said that every religion has given a message of peace and harmony.
Pakistan has always helped Sri Lanka when they needed it, including assistance towards counter-terrorism measures. He wished that the Pakistani government would take further measures to flourish religious tourism, he said.

The Sri Lankan delegation during its one-week visit in Pakistan will visit various Buddhist heritage sites. The tour has been arranged by the Pakistan High Commission in its bid to boost religious tourism in Pakistan.
Ms Ayesha Abu Bakr Fahad – Second Secretary, High Commission of Pakistan Colombo, has apprised that the Sri Lankan dignitaries will also visit holy Buddhist trail and will pay their respects to the ‘Tooth relics of Lord Buddha’, the ‘Bone relics of Lord Buddha’ and the ‘Body Ashes of Lord Buddha’.
