KARACHI: Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the Sindh government will protest against the removal of members of the Indus River System Authority (IRSA) by the federal government as it is unconstitutional.
Minister informed media through a statement that Sindh government was to write a letter to the federal government to protest removal of IRSA members.
Terming the move as uconstitutional, he stated that the federal government would not be allowed to take any such step as according to the law, consultation with provinces prior to the decision was obligatory.
Shah said that the federal government had given a message of non-compliance with the Constitution by raising the issue of Indus River System Authority.
The letter would be sent to the Federation by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.
The provincial minister further said that the provincial government reserved the right to move the court if the matter is not resolved amicably.
