Sindh Local Government Secretary Roshan Ali Sheikh has been arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in illegal allotment case on Monday (today).
Justice Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha of Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday, heard Roshan Ali Sheikh’s bail plea in illegal allotment case.
The court rejected Sheikh’s bail plea and directed anti-graft watchdog to arrest Roshan Ali Sheikh and nine others including Fazalur Rehman, Wasim, Nadeem Qadir Khokhar and Sabiha Islam and others in illegal allotment case filed by NAB.
The court remarked that the accused are involved in illegal land allotment and misused their powers as government employees. This has inflicted heavy loss to the national exchequer.
Meanwhile, SHC granted bail to Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) leaders Saif Abbas, Shoaib and Shaukat Jokhio and ordering their immediate release.
NAB has accused Roshan Ali Sheikh and nine others of illegally allotting 265 acres of land to slaughter houses in collusion with Karachi Metropolitan Cooperation (KMC) and Board of Revenue officials.
