Karachi: The number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus ‘COVID-19’ infections in Pakistan has risen to 19 after two more cases emerged in Sindh and Quetta reported its first on Tuesday. Sindh Health Department said that one confirmed case of coronavirus has been reported in Hyderabad while the other case emerged in the provincial capital.
Health and population welfare department Sindh, has established its own screening counters and stationed its own staff at Jinnah airport Karachi as precautionary measures taken by federal government for the screening of passengers have proved to be insufficient and ineffective and has failed to prevent effective identification and quarantine of suspected corona virus patients.
Earlier, media sources quoted passengers arriving at Pakistan airports, stating that they were only questioned about their travel history regarding Iran and China, and no further screening or medical tests were carried out.
