Provincial ministers Saeed Ghani and Nasir Hussain Shah have rejected the allegations that the Sindh government is using doctors as an instrument to promote politics.
The ministers said that it is necessary to take doctors’ warnings seriously as the COVID-19 crisis is mounting by the day.
Earlier the Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah had said that the recent increase in deaths across the province should be investigated. Sindh government has also demanded of establishing a judicial commission which shall conduct investigation into rumors against the provincial authorities of using the situation to their political advantage.
CM shah had also said that he completely empathized with the business community and Sindh Board of revenue and Excise and Taxation department had also waived off their taxes. He stressed that there is no deadlock between the government and the business community in Sindh.
Nasir Hussain Shah said that the provincial government wants to work together with the federal government. He said the judicial commission must look into the serious allegations that have been leveled against Sindh in this situation.
“The government has taken certain decision to stop the spread of the disease which were inevitable. Media must criticize Sindh, but it should also show what is going on in the rest of the country. Administration scared shop owners with firing in Peshawar when they tried to violate the lockdown. But if a trader in Sindh is stopped for the same reason, media makes a meal out of it,” Shah said.
He said it is necessary to pay heed to what the doctors are saying and not instigate public though rumors and allegations against the provincial government.
