Bureaucrat Hazim Bangwar was removed from the office of assistant commissioner and directed to report to the Sindh Services and General Administration Department.
Known for his eccentric personality, Bangwar was currently deputed at the Karachi Commissioner’s office as the assistant commissioner general Karachi.
He once again made headlines today after the reports of his removal from the official post.
The reason for Bangwar’s removal was not stated anywhere. However, the insiders revealed that he has been sacked over a complaint for issuing notices to officials overstaying at the official residences.
These residences present within the commissioner’s office are allocated to the officials upon their appointment and withdrawn after their term ends.
However, two officers, including a woman official, were still staying there despite being notified to vacate after their allotment was cancelled and the residences were allocated to new officials during the tenure of former Karachi commissioner Iqbal Memon.
The new allottees, sources said, had approached the Sindh High Court for the acquisition of the official residences.
To ensure the implementation of the SHC’s order, Bangwar had reportedly issued notices to the former officials.
