Sindh government has sent written directives to the head of Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control departments to ensure that all liquor selling stores are continuously closed during the month of Ramazan.
The directive reads that the directors must ensure all wine shops in province must remain continuously closed during the entire month of Ramazan. It also says that sale of liqor in various areas continued during the period of lockdown for which a notification of closure and sale prohibition was issued earlier during March. The notification said the secretive and alternative sale is objectionable.
Therefore the directors of anti-narcotics and excise and taxation have been asserted to ensure the closure of such retail stores and any irregularity in this regard shall be dealt with according to law. If any violation is observed, the notification says that areas district officers will be held responsible for them.
