Sindh Education and Labour Minister – Saeed Ghani, on Tuesday, rejected the inquiry committee formed by the federal government to investigate the crash of PIA flight PK-8303.
Speaking to a press conference, Saeed Ghani demanded the removal of Air Marshal Arshad Malik – Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), along with the ousting of head of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
A totalitarian administration has been imposed in PIA, and an inquiry committee comprising of people who are subordinate to these individuals will be unable to work freely, effectively and efficiently to determine the cause of the crash that killed 97 people on Friday, he added.
Saeed Ghani also demanded the inclusion of experts and representatives of various international aviation bodies to ensure transparency in the investigation process.
Prior to this, Sindh Information Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has said that the DNA tests for the identification of victims are being carried out at a Karachi University facility and the process will be completed within 10 days.
It is to be noted that PIA flight PK-8303 crashed in Karachi’s Model Colony Area on Friday, killing 97 people on board, whereas two passengers, Mohammad Zubair and Zafar Masud miraculously survived the crash and being treated for minor injuries.
