Sindh government has hinted on postponing examinations in educational institutions due to their extended closure during COVID-19 pandemic.
Expressing his views in a press briefing, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that educational institutions are facing difficulty in fulfilling syllabus goals as a result of the COVID-19 lockdown restrictions.
However, Saeed Ghani ensured that students will not be promoted without examinations this year and that it will be ensured that at least 60% of the syllabus is taught to pupils.
The minister also apprised of government’s decision to carry out a census of private schools in the province to gather essential details, data regarding private educational institutions and students associated with them.
Random COVID-19 screening will be done at educational institutions, he added.
It is to be noted that educational institutions have witnessed two prolonged periods of closure due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in 2020 last year.
