Actor Zara Tareen is throwing some serious shade these days, especially when it comes to a certain actor turned producer.
“I’m not sure reviews damage film or the industry in any way but doing films for free as a rule certainly damages the market for an entire profession so #ShutUpMufasa,” she wrote.
Her post came soon after actor-producer Fahad Mustafa asked bloggers to stop putting up film reviews soon after a film releases as it would “damage the film big time”.
The Load Wedding actor’s words were met by cheers from fellow actors Mehwish Hayat, Sami Khan, Aijaz Aslam and Naveed Raza but the general public didn’t seem to agree with him.
If that wasn’t enough shade for you, Tareen posted on Thursday again, this time an apology but it wasn’t the apology anyone was expecting.
I wholeheartedly take back my words, I should not have insulted Mufasa by using his name, she said, referring, of course, to the character from the 1994 animated film The Lion King.
“Using his name in place of a loud mouth, unprofessional, entitled, badtameez [ill mannered] brat was uncalled for. The Lion King was legendary and Mufasa was wise and respectful and still gets amazing reviews because he earned them.” Ouch.
We aren’t sure what’s going on but we’re here for the drama.
Tareen has acted in 2020’s Mushk and Dhoop Ki Dewar (2021). She also recently married fellow actor Faran Tahir. Mustafa has hosted gameshow Jeeto Pakistan and acted in several movies, including Load Wedding and Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
