Lahore: Punjab government has directed to close all the retail shops 5pm in a bid to intensify the province-wide lockdown to curb the spread of coronavirus.
The operational timings of shops have been limited from 9 am to 5 pm. Hospitals and pharmacies have been exempted from the time limitation and will be allowed to operate as per regular timings.
This decision comes as Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar decides to intensify the province-wide lockdown as Punjab has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases, with the tally reaching to 708.
Earlier, social distancing directives were issued and a 14-day lockdown was imposed in Punjab to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
