Minister of State Shehryar Afridi has been elected as the Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, on Thursday.
Shehryar Afridi was preceded by Syed Fakhar Imam as the chairman of parliamentary committee on Kashmir. Upon his succession as the committee chairman, Shehryar Afridi reaffirmed his commitment for close cooperation with all the other political parties to raise voice against Indian brutalities in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office had condemned the Indian state sponsored terrorism in Jammy and Kashmir which has seen exponential increase in violence by Indian forces resulting in dozens of Kashmiri deaths.
“Pakistan condemns Indian brutalities in IOJ&K. As the world is grappling with Covid19, India is busy further brutalising Kashmiri people. The cold-blooded murder of Peer Mehrajuddin by the CRPF in Budgam is the latest in the mindless killing spree by Indian occupation forces,” tweeted the FO spokesperson.
“The world community must hold India to account for its crimes in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Justice for Kashmiris remains indispensable for peace in South Asia,” read the statement issued by Foreign Office.
