Shehbaz Sharif himself along with PML-N leaders including Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Sanullah, Fazal Chaudhry and Rana Arshad were present in the court for the hearing.
The court has directed Shehbaz Sharif to submit surety bond of Rs 500,000 for his pre-arrest bail till June 17.
Meanwhile authorities had sealed off the roads leading to the court to avoid any mishap, whereas NAB officials were stationed at the entrance and exit routes to apprehend Shehbaz Sharif in case the court rejected his bail plea.
It is to be noted that Shehbaz Shairf had filed a bail petition in LHC on June 1, seeking for protective bail against NAB.
“In absence of any evidence worth name to suggest any nexus between amassing of assets and abuse or misuse of office, an offence in terms of section 9(a)(v) of NAO 1999 cannot be attracted,” read the petition.
It is pertinent to know that NAB has accused Sharif family of money laundering and having assets beyond their means of earning.
