Shehbaz Sharif has not yet been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail thou the Lahore High Court gave the decision of granting him bail in a money laundering reference on 14 April.
Shehbaz was also arrested by NAB on Oct 5, 2018 in Ashiana-i-Iqbal Housing Scheme and later in Ramazan Sugar Mills references. The LHC had released him on bail in both cases on Feb 17, 2019. He was sent to jail on judicial remand on Oct 20, 2020 after remaining in NAB custody for 23 days since his arrest on September 28, 2020 in the money laundering reference.
A two-judge bench of the high court, led by Justice Sardar Mohammad Sarfraz Dogar and also comprised of Asjad Javed Ghural, accepted his bail subject to submission of 2 surety bonds worth Rs5 million each.
The judgement that gave the PML-N leader bail is still not signed and yet to be signed by the judges part of the division bench. His release order will be issued when the sheet wil be signed.
