Lahore: PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif has called for a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting over the issue of coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Shehbaz Sharif expressed dissatisfaction over government’s policies to deal with the economic and health crisis due to COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
Opposition leader has highlighted the fact that hiding facts from the people will only add to mass hysteria and panic which will only add to the issues faced by federal and provincial governments.
He has also demanded government to call a meeting of parliamentary standing committee on health, via video link to consult all political parties on the policies and measures being taken on the issue of virus outbreak in the country.
“I urge the Speaker National Assembly to immediately convene a meeting of the Standing Committee on Health to discuss the current situation,” he stated on social media.
Earlier, PML (N) president had demanded that free testing services should be set up for everyone, and large quarantine facilities should be established that are separate from hospitals to ensure the safety of health care workers in dealing with the continuous influx of patients.
