An Accountability Court on Thursday, announced its decision to indict ex-Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former Finance Minister PML-N leader Miftah Ismail in LNG case on November 16th.
The Accountability Court announced its decision to indict all the accused individuals in LNG case on Monday November 16th next week.
The court has directed senior Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismail to appear before the court in personal capacity to be indicted in LNG case.
The development comes as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) filed a reference accusing nine suspects of various unlawful activities in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import contract case.
It is pertinent to know that former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is currently on bail secured from Islamabad High Court (IHC) after submitting surety bond worth up to Rs 10 million.
NAB has accused Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Miftah Ismail of misusing their authority and in awarding the contract for LNG terminal-1.
Abbasi is accused of unlawfully awarding a 15-year contract for the LNG terminal while serving as petroleum minister in Nawaz Sharif’s cabinet. He is also accused of benefiting from Rs 736 million in kickback.
