Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday, departed for a two-day visit to Moscow to attend meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s Council of Foreign Ministers (SCO-CFM).
“SCO is an important platform that has limitless potential for the development of our region,” said FM Qureshi in a video statement issued on social media.
The minister also highlighted that Afghan peace process is also likely to be discussed by various countries on the sidelines of the meeting.
Russia is interested in the 1,100 kilometer North-South gas pipeline aimed at connecting Lahore and Karachi, he added.
Furthermore, Shah Mahmood Qureshi also reiterated the significance of Gwadar port in regional development and trade.
Qureshi has been invited by his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
