Muslims around the world will observe Shab-e-Barat tonight with religious devotion and zeal seeking almighty’s forgiveness.
Shab-e-Barat is marked by special prayers and seeking Allah’s forgiveness and blessing for Ummah’s prosperity. In a statement, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad – Chairman Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has urged people to seek forgiveness from Allah on Shab e Barat as the coronavirus pandemic seems to be spreading far and wide.
Shab-e-Barat is observed on 15th night of the month of Sha’ban, the eighth month of the Islamic calendar. The occasion holds significant religious importance as it in on this night that an individual’s fortune is decided by the almighty for the coming year, and when Allah may forgive sinners. In many regions, this is also a night when prayers are offered to Allah to forgive one’s deceased ancestors.
It is to be noted that Sindh government has announced a public holiday on March 30 on account of Shab e Barat.
