A scuffle broke out at mass COVID-19 vaccination center at F-9 park, injuring security personnel deployed at the facility.
As per details, two security guards at Islamabad’s F-9 park mass COVID-19 vaccination center were injured after a large crown kicked down the doors and forcefully made their way inside the vaccination facility.
The security personnel attempted to stop the crowd from barging into the vaccination center, resulting in a heated exchange of words between the guards and public.
According to DHO Zaeem Zia, there was an unprecedented and exponential increase in the number of people visiting the mass COVID-19 vaccination center due to people from other cities as well, which resulted in the facility being overwhelmed.
A large number of people visited the F-9 park mass COVID-19 vaccination center after getting to know that the facility was administering Pfizer and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines which are in high demand as they are acceptable in most part of the world and are required by Pakistanis wishing to travel abroad.
Pakistan is currently utilizing a total of six COVID-19 vaccines namely Sinopharm, CansinoBio, Sputnik V, Oxford AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac to carryout nation-wide inoculation drive against the novel virus.
As per NCOC statistics, 11,978,339 people have been partially vaccinated against COVID-19 with 2,815,454 people being fully vaccinated against the novel virus with the country administering a total of 14,793,793 COVID-19 vaccine doses in total.
