Public and private schools in Sindh reopened across Sindh on Monday after a seven-month hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic across the globe.
Schools have been asked to strictly abide by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) put in place by the local government to minimize virus spread.
Education Minister for Sindh, Saeed Ghani warned of dire consequences against the management of schools found negligent over the implementation of SOPs.
Health Minister Sindh Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho had vehemently opposed reopening of schools across the province with emphasis on primary schools.
Pechuho had said that the decision was being made in haste as coronavirus has not yet been defeated and its numbers had increased in Sindh.
