The Supreme court of Pakistan on Friday directed the attorney general of Pakistan to make the judicial commission investigations public on the matter of Army Public School (APS) tragedy that occurred back in 2014.
The Attorney General, Khalid Jawed Khan was directed by the apex court to ensure that the report and comments are made public while Amanullah is amicus curiae (friend of the court) in the highly sensitive case.
Today’s proceedings were a suo motu case and was heard by a two-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed.
The attorney general apprised the court that primary accused involved in carrying out the heinous act have been awarded punishments by the state of Pakistan while the effected parents and the injured are being looked after in the best way possible.
CJP Gulzar remarked that the trend of levying blame on low ranking officers must come to an end and high ranking armed forces officials must step forth and take responsibility of their failures and shall be meted put punishments accordingly.
Later, the top court adjourned that hearing of the case for one month.
