The Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz al-Sheikh of Saudi Arabia, the highest religious authority in the country, said that Ramadan and Eid prayers should be performed at home if the situation remains the same on Friday.
“Ramadan’s Taraweeh (evening) prayer can be performed at home if it cannot be performed at mosques due to the preventive measures taken to fight the spread of coronavirus,” he said.
In Mid-March Saudi Arabia halted prayers in the mosques to curb the spread of the coronavirus. As the cases in Saudi rose up to 7,142 and 87 casualties.
The holy month of Ramadan is to start next week, prayers and all other public gatherings have been halted worldwide amid Novel coronavirus.
