Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on Tuesday made a phone call to Chinese President Xi Jinping.
During the telephone call, they stressed the importance of the strategic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China.
The Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed Saudi Arabia’s appreciation for the Chinese initiative to support the development of good neighborly ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Xi Jinping hoped that the two countries would continuously improve their relations on the basis of the results of the dialogue, state media said on Tuesday.
Chinese President praises Saudi Arabia’s role
For his part, the Chinese President praised Saudi Arabia’s key role in promoting the development of his country’s relations with the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Middle East.
The Chinese President recently helped broker a surprise deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran, Middle East rivals, to restore diplomatic relations.
Continuing to promote and develop Saudi Arabia-China relations, Xi said the two countries would firmly support each other on issues involving their respective core interests.
China and Saudi Arabia will make more contributions to promote peace, stability, and development in the Middle East, Xi said, according to state media.
