Saudi Arabia has approved Pakistanis vaccinated with Chinese COVID-19 vaccines, to enter the kingdom.
As per details, Pakistanis inoculated with Chinese origin COVID-19v vaccines will now be allowed to travel to Saudi Arabia.
However, Pakistani nationals will be required to get a booster shot in addition to the two doses of Chinese COVID-19v vaccine, and will also have to provide a negate PCR test to enter the country.
Saudi Arabia has otherwise approved Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson for emergency use.
The development comes as a large number of Pakistanis wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia were unable to do so as the kingdom had rejected Chinese-origin COVID-19 vaccines and was only accepting western vaccines.
This had left a large number of Pakistanis unable to travel to Saudi Arabia as the country was mostly utilizing Chinese COVID-19 vaccines and only had a limited stock of western vaccines.
Currently, Pakistan is utilizing a total of six COVID-19 vaccines namely Sinopharm, CansinoBio, Sputnik V, Oxford AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Sinovac to carryout nation-wide inoculation drive against the novel virus.
