Dr Zafar Mirza – Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on Health has been diagnosed with COVID-19 coronavirus on Monday.
Dr Zafar Mirza, on Monday, took to social media to announce that he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and has registered mild symptoms.
“I have tested positive for COVID-19. Under med advice I have isolated myself at home & taking all precautions,” he tweeted.

The development comes as Dr Zafar Mirza has been spearheading the efforts to tackle COVID-19 outbreak on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s instructions.
Prior to this Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had also tested positive for COVID-19 on July 3.
Pakistan has reported a total of 231,818 COVID-19 cases, with 131,649 recoveries and 4,762 deaths so far.
