Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and his Russian counterpart , Sergey Lavrov will have top-level talks in Islamabad today.
Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov, is in Islamabad on a 2-day official visit to Pakistan to have talks on further strengthening bilateral relations between 2 countries. He will also call on Prime Minister Imran Khan and have talks with the senior delegation.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister tweeted that Russian Foreign Minister’s visit is scheduled with the commitment of Islamabad and Moscow to further flourish their bilateral relations and the growth of cooperation and collaboration.
A broad range of subjects of common interest including security and defense, counter-terrorism and the Afghan peace process have been the reasons for growing the bilateral ties between both countries.In an official statement Russian Foreign Ministry, said about Surgey Lavrov’s visit to Pakistan, and told that Pakistan is an essential foreign policy factor of Russia and important interaction is preserved at international organizations, fundamentally in the UN and its specialized bodies.
The cooperation between Pakistan and Russia is based on uniformity of positions on most of the issues of the world community, including problems of strategic firmness and confronting terrorism.
